Once you've picked an area — tips for choosing where to stay in Phu Quoc
Phu Quoc is a large island, and getting between areas takes time. Keeping the following three points in mind makes it easier to choose.
- Always check travel times: It's about a 30–50 minute drive from the airport to the north or south of the island. Check the map for how your hotel sits relative to the spots you want to visit, just to be safe.
- Read the star rating together with the number of reviews: Even a 4.9-star rating doesn't mean much if it's based on only a few dozen reviews. Hotels with a high star rating AND a large number of reviews are far less likely to disappoint.
- Choose based on whether you want to enjoy the town too or just hole up: Choose by purpose — central Long Beach if you want the night market and strolling the town, the south or north if you'd rather have the resort be the whole trip.
