Vietnam's largest travel industry event, "VITM Hanoi 2026 (Vietnam International Travel Mart),"Thursday, April 9 to Sunday, April 12, 2026will be held at the International Centre for Exhibition (I.C.E Hanoi) in Hanoi. The theme is "Digital Transformation & Green Growth – Elevating Vietnam Tourism," a large-scale travel expo with more than 600 companies exhibiting across 450 booths.
The scale and highlights of VITM 2026
This year's VITM will be held at its largest scale ever. The main overview is as follows:
- Participating countries/regions:15 countries/regions + 34 domestic provinces and cities
- Number of exhibiting companies:More than 600 companies, 450 booths
- Number of visitors:About 80,000 expected
- B2B meetings:About 150 international travel companies and about 200 domestic companies participate on April 9
- Open to the public:April 10–12 (purchasing and booking travel products is also possible)
An awards ceremony for 136 outstanding companies and 73 outstanding individuals is also planned.
This year's theme: digitalization and green growth
The keywords for Vietnamese tourism in 2026 are "digital transformation" and "green growth." Personalization of travel experiences through AI, and many eco-tourism and sustainable tourism products, are expected to be exhibited.
Ho Chi Minh City is targeting attracting11 million international tourists and 50 million domestic travelersin 2026, and VITM also serves as an important promotional venue toward achieving that.
A tailwind for travel to Vietnam from Japan too
In the first quarter of 2026,visitors to Vietnam from South Korea surged to over 970,000,making it the largest source of visitors in Asia. The number of travelers from Japan is also on a recovery trend, andVietnam Airlines opens a Ho Chi Minh City–Phuket direct flight on April 2,among other moves, raising the convenience of circuit travel.
