Changes from the 2023 revision through 2026
The major revision of August 2023 (current standard)
The revision that took effect on August 15, 2023 made the e-visa far easier to use. Before that it was a maximum of 30 days and single entry only, but after the revision it changed as follows.

E-visa application steps (complete guide for Japanese travelers)
Step 1: Access the official site
Be sure to useevisa.gov.vn(official Vietnamese government). Agency sites incur extra fees. Switch the language to English at the top right of the page and proceed.
Step 2: Prepare the required documents
- Passport scan (validity of at least 6 months required)
- Photo (equivalent to 4cm × 6cm, white background, taken within 3 months)
- Accommodation address (hotel name and address)
- Credit card (Visa/Mastercard)
Step 3: Fill out the online form
Enter your personal information, purpose of travel, planned entry date, entry point (airport name, etc.), and accommodation on the application form. Fill everything out in English.
