In \"The Cafe Apartment\" on Nguyen Hue Street in Ho Chi Minh City, on the second floor, there is a workshop called \"NOTE \u2013 The Scent Lab\" where travelers can blend their own perfume. With a Google review score of 4.9 (over 2,400 reviews) and a TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice 2025 award to its name, this place is emerging as a new go-to experience for a trip to Vietnam.<\/p>\n

What you can do<\/h2>\n

In a 90-minute workshop, you blend your own eau de parfum from more than 30 fragrance materials. Using IFRA (International Fragrance Association) certified materials, you finish with an authentic perfume at 15\u201320% essential oil concentration.<\/p>\n

Participants have so far exceeded 8,000 people. English-speaking instructors are always on hand, and there are sessions where Japanese, Korean, and Chinese support is available.<\/p>\n

The five steps of the workshop<\/h2>\n

  1. Introduction (10 minutes)<\/strong> \u2014 Learn the basics of the fragrance wheel (a classification chart of scents) and top, middle, and base notes<\/li>\n
  2. Exploring scents (15 minutes)<\/strong> \u2014 Try more than 30 individual fragrances one by one. The stage for finding the direction of your own preferences<\/li>\n
  3. Concept design (10 minutes)<\/strong> \u2014 Share the image of \"the mood you want the scent to have\" with the instructor and create a blueprint for the blend<\/li>\n
  4. Blending (40 minutes)<\/strong> \u2014 Using glass pipettes, actually mix the fragrances together. This is the most focused stretch of time<\/li>\n
  5. Naming and bottling (15 minutes)<\/strong> \u2014 Name your finished perfume and pour it into a bottle. You also receive a card with the blend recipe<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Because the recipe is stored permanently, you can reorder the same perfume the next time you visit Vietnam.<\/p>\n
