The venues are Dong Hai Park (East Sea Park) and the Tam Thanh Beach square area. It\u2019s a large-scale food festival kicking off with a parade of 70 shoulder-pole-style stalls lining the coastline, with over 100 booths operating from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. The organizer is the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Under the theme \u201cThe Essence of Quang Regional Cuisine,\u201d it puts forward a new concept of a five-senses experience\u2014\u201csee, touch, and taste\u201d\u2014spanning local seafood and home-style dishes to international cuisine.<\/p>\n

According to a press conference by the Da Nang People\u2019s Committee, a shoulder-pole parade titled \u201cG\u00e1nh v\u1ecb \u0110\u00e0 N\u1eb5ng (Carrying the Taste of Da Nang)\u201d sets off at 5 p.m. on the opening day, May 20. Recreating the street-vending culture of central Vietnam, the procession is made up of 70 g\u00e1nh h\u00e0ng (shoulder-pole stalls) with inventively crafted decorations. At 7:30 p.m. the next day, the 21st, a formal opening ceremony is held at Dong Hai Park, launching the five-day festival in earnest.<\/p>\n

In addition to local specialties\u2014mi quang, banh xeo, banh trang cuon (rice-paper rolls), and grilled seafood\u2014the booths serve dishes from Southeast Asian countries and summer drinks.
